Tutor Up – Terms and Conditions
1. Services Offered:
The tutor agrees to provide academic tutoring services in the subject(s) agreed upon with the client (hereafter referred to as “Student”).
2. Schedule and Sessions:
- One-to-One tutoring sessions will be scheduled based on mutual availability.
- Any changes to the schedule should be communicated and agreed upon by both parties in a week advance.
- Group sessions will be held in the advertised location, with the schedule given upon booking.
3. Fees and Payments:
- The agreed-upon fee for each tutoring session will vary depending upon the package selected.
- Payments for group tutoring will be made in advance or as a block booking.
- Payment for 1-1 sessions will be made in advance.
- Late payments may incur additional charges.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling:
- Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled session to avoid being charged.
- Rescheduling can be done with advance notice and mutual agreement, where rescheduling can not be completed such as a group tutoring session, course materials will be sent for the tutee to complete.
5. Refunds:
- No refunds will be provided for sessions that have already taken place.
6. Responsibilities:
- The tutor is responsible for preparing appropriate materials, explaining concepts, and providing guidance during tutoring sessions.
- The Student is responsible for being punctual, prepared for the session, and actively participating in the learning process.
7. Confidentiality:
- Both the tutor and the Student agree to maintain the confidentiality of any personal or academic information shared during the tutoring sessions.
8. Code of Conduct:
- Both parties agree to treat each other with respect and professionalism during all interactions.
9. Termination:
- Group classes – Sessions are blocked as part of a course, at the end of the course tutee can decide whether they wish to continue.
- Course bookings can not be cancelled once they have begun, as that place would be secure for that person.
- 1-1 Two weeks’ notice must be given to cancel 1-1 sessions. Either party may terminate the tutoring agreement with reasonable notice.
10. Liability:
The tutor is not responsible for the Student’s academic performance; improvement is dependent on the Student’s effort and dedication.
